Pitch RaisingA pitch raise is a preliminary piano tuning performed prior to a regular tuning. A pitch raise changes the overall tension on your piano’s structure. A pitch raise requires more time and effort than a regular tuning, and as a result, the fee is higher. Also, keep in mind that it is highly advisable (usually necessary) to have the piano tuned again within the next 6 months after a pitch adjustment.

Similar to ‘tuning’ the engine of a car, regulating a piano is the process of adjusting the dimensions between the moving parts of a piano action in order to achieve the optimal performance possible.
