We have a range of services on offer that cater for the myriad of issues that pianos can present to us.  Take a look below but do call or message us about any Piano servicing questions.

Piano Tuning

Piano tuning is the act of adjusting the tension of the strings of an acoustic piano so that the musical intervals between strings are in tune. Fine piano tuning requires an assessment of the vibration
interaction among notes, which is different for every piano, thus in practice requiring slightly different pitches from any theoretical standard. Pianos are usually tuned to a modified version of the system
called equal temperament

Re-Stringing

Broken or missing a string? ISCA Pianos can replace these for you.
If possible it is advisable after a string replacement to let the new string ‘settle’ before the piano is tuned.

Restoration

It is possible to breathe life back into most pianos. If you have a beloved instrument in need of attention, then call for an examination and quote.

Pitch Raising

A pitch raise is a preliminary piano tuning performed prior to a regular tuning. A pitch raise changes the overall tension on your piano’s structure. A pitch raise requires more time and effort than a regular tuning, and as a result, the fee is higher. Also, keep in mind that it is highly advisable (usually necessary) to have the piano tuned again within the next 6 months after a pitch adjustment.

Regulation

Similar to ‘tuning’ the engine of a car, regulating a piano is the process of adjusting the dimensions between the moving parts of a piano action in order to achieve the optimal performance possible.

Piano Action, Maintenance, Servicing and Repair

The piano action mechanism of a piano or other musical keyboard is the mechanical assembly which translates the depression of the keys into rapid motion of a hammer, which creates sound by striking the strings.
This is a complex mechanism involving many moving parts working in fine balance with each other. Occasionally things break, or over time the action can become worn or out of balance.
